Head, Market Structure and Liquidity Strategy, EMEA UBS

In his role as Head of EMEA Market Structure and Liquidity Strategy, John is responsible for providing insights on liquidity trends, changing market structure and European regulation, including using these to inform and shape UBS's liquidity strategy. Prior to joining UBS, John held several positions over ten years with agency brokerage Instinet, where he most recently held the position of Head of European Product Management. Since joining UBS in 2017, John has occupied a senior role on the Algorithmic Trading desk. He has been instrumental in shaping UBS’s electronic trading product in response to the market structural challenges presented by MiFID II and Brexit. He was appointed Head of EMEA Market Structure and Liquidity Strategy in 2021. John is closely involved in a number of industry wide groups and initiatives, including AFME, Quorum 15, the Plato Partnership and UKFinance.
