Prior to founding Streets Consulting in 2008, Julia was global head of communications at NYSE Technologies, serving on the Executive Committee and European head of marketing and sales development at Instinet. In 2013, Brummell Magazine named Julia one of their 30 Inspirational Women on Boards and in 2014 one of their 30 Inspirational Women Entrepreneurs. This year they listed her as one of their 30 Insprirational Women City Influeners. In the past three years Innovate Finance has listed Julia one of their Leading Women in FinTech and one of SWIFT's Global Power Women in FinTech. Julia is proud to serve as a trustee of the charity 'Children in Crisis' and is a Fellow of the British American Project.

This panel will feature heads of trading who have different organisational structures and reporting lines (investment, operations, technology), as well as a CIO on how they view trading in the investment process. They will talk through the merits and drawbacks of each organisational model, how to strike the right balance of strategic alignment and technological innovation, and the optimum structure for a high performing desk.

  • What are the various organisational structures of trading desks and where/ who they report to within the firm? 
  • What is the rationale behind different structures and reporting lines, and how do these influence the desks operations and strategic alignment with the firm?
